Man-Flu and Monsters

My poor little Smiler has Man-Flu so we've been hanging about in our bathrobe and slippers.
It all kicked off last Sunday night at around 3:00 AM and I haven't had more than two hours of uninterrupted sleep since.

He apparently has a virus.  I took him to the doctor on Tuesday and today and they said his ears, throat and chest were clear.  He hardly slept at all last night and had a raging fever to boot.  I had a hard time believing that there wasn't an infection.

Sweet-Pea gave us a good laugh this week.  She came home saying that it was Robert's birthday and that she and Sammy had sung him "Happy Birthday."  I asked who Robert was and she said "Robbie Burns" she said excitedly "and he has a night!"  But of course - Burns night!

I told her that Grannie (my mother) was Scottish just like Robbie Burns and she said, "Did you know there are monsters in Scotland?"  Really?  "They're called 'Ness'."  Ah - the Loch Ness monster!

I was really pleased that they did some Scottish heritage and I am thinking of asking them to celebrate the Canadian Independance day.  Sweet-Pea is half-Canadian and I'd like her to know a bit more about Canada and its customs.  It won't mean much to her now but will do at a future time hopefully.
